Sometimes the best sessions happen when the weather keeps us guessing — and this maternity session at Lory State Park was the perfect example. These first-time parents, both engineers who work at the same company, wanted a beautiful, natural backdrop to celebrate their growing family.

As we drove to the park, the skies were gray and the rain started to fall. We debated if we should wait it out, but decided to go for it — and I’m so glad we did! Just as we began the session, the rain started to taper off, and within minutes the clouds parted to reveal the most stunning, golden light. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Between the rolling foothills, soft light, and their quiet excitement about becoming parents, everything came together so naturally. We captured so many sweet moments — gentle laughs, belly cradles, and a few twirls in the glowing sunshine. And then, as we packed up and drove away, the rain started again.

It was one of those sessions that felt completely meant to be — the kind where nature seems to celebrate right alongside you. Lory State Park gave us everything we could have hoped for and more.
