Warren + Alyssa | Devil’s Backbone Engagement Photos

A puppy and a sense of adventure were all Warren and Alyssa needed for their Devil’s Backbone engagement photos.

Warren, Alyssa, and I have been friends since high school, and during their engagement session we got to reminisce on all the good times – especially the good times of senior year. 

Let’s back up a bit, to the moment I personally like to take credit for: It was the middle of September, and our senior homecoming was a little more than a week away. Alyssa felt like she was the only girl left who had not been asked by a boy to the homecoming dance, and I was on a mission to change that.

There were many boys who were not going to the dance that I tried to convince to ask Alyssa… Finally, Warren reached out and said he might ask her if I thought she would say yes. I was not sure, so I gave Alyssa a call – this call interrupted her rant to her dad about not having a date to the dance – and I asked her if she would say yes to Warren. She paused to think about it, and said sure! “Sweet”,  I thought, “We all have a date to the dance.”

Little did I know, I did not just set up a homecoming date, I set up a marriage. And while I like to take full credit, I do have to admit there was some help from my friends in the whole process.

Now let’s continue the story.

It’s the week after the dance, and Alyssa tells me that Warren has asked her on a pre-date, yes a date before the first date, where she was to meet his whole family. Talk about nerve-wracking! After she met the fam, she went on the “real” date. To much of our surprise she went on another, and another! 

Now they finally got engaged in college, and they so graciously went along with my idea to take a few pictures at Devil’s Backbone with their adorable puppy, Finley. What’s better than a cute puppy to add to your Devil’s Backbone engagement photos!

Warren and Alyssa are now happily married, and they were so kind to let me and my husband be in the wedding party to celebrate their wedding day! Alyssa was a beautiful bride, and she is still such a good friend.

Oh, and they have now added a new puppy to the family – maybe it’s time for another photo shoot 😉
