Why Newborn Photos Matter
The first few weeks of your baby’s life are so fleeting. Your baby will never be this small again, and it’s important to capture it so you have photos to look back on even when your memories of this amazing and sleep-deprived time are fuzzy. Finding a photographer who specialized in newborn photos in Northern Colorado will make this whole process smooth and easy!
Newborn photos are best captured between 7-10 days old to get the most adorable sleepy baby! Anytime between 1-3 weeks old is the ideal window. Every birth is different, so there is flexibility depending on your recovery!
Styles of Newborn Photos
There are two main types of newborn photography – lifestyle and posed.
I specialize in lifestyle, which means it’s more candid, real and captures the relationships along with the baby. In lifestyle photos, the newborn is often captured in the arms of each parent, in their crib or a Moses basket, and in swaddles or outfits you already own. There is little to no ‘traditional’ posing of the baby.
Posed newborn photography is much more complicated and requires the photographer to have additional safety training as they are posing the newborn in different ways and usually are in a studio with different backdrops. This is arguably the easiest place to take newborn photos! No travel required. To ensure your home is photo ready, I recommend you tidy your living room, nursery, and master bedroom. No need to deep clean, just put stuff away so we can find the pockets of light in your home. I travel all over Northern Colorado for your newborn photos!

Sunrise Studio in Loveland, CO
Beautiful light and really a blank space to create beautiful family photos. This studio is located on 1st street in Loveland, CO between Madison and Boise, and it’s one of my favorite studios! There are beautiful couches, rugs, and a few backdrops to make your photos unique. Check out the Sunrise Studio!
The Little White Studio in Fredrick, CO
This perfect little studio in downtown Fredrick is such a fun and unique spot. It’s got white walls and floors, a bed, and extra swaddles and a newborn bean bag. If you are located East of I-25, this would be a great location for you! Check out the Little White Studio!

The Greenhouse at Blooms on 23 in Windsor, CO
Looking for something different? Funky? Well check out this beautiful greenhouse in Windsor Colorado. This gives an outdoor vibe without having to actually be outside. In the summer it has beautiful flowers around, but it’s also a great option for the other seasons if you want the outdoor feel.
Sugarhill Photo Studio in Longmont, CO
