On a snowy day, when most people cuddled up with hot chocolate and Netflix, we decided to adventure out into the cold and 18 inches of snow to create magic for Alexis and Philip’s Northern Colorado engagement photos.
Now, I knew Alexis back in high school – good times… But her love adventure started her sophomore year of college. Boy talks to girl, girl does not remember the conversation. Oof, sorry Philip! But they meet again, and this is my favorite part of the story…
At an all-campus event where the classes competed in hilarious, uniquely weird games, Alexis was in full-on competitive mode. The mission: ride piggyback on a boy who has an egg strapped to his head while the girl uses a rubber chicken to break the egg on the other boy’s head. Alexis knew she needed a tall boy… Her eyes locked with Philip. “He will do”, she thought. She jumped on his back, they entered the competition and were ready to break legs (oops, I mean eggs).
Unfortunately, their run in this strange chicken-egg game was not long-lived, but it was memorable. From there, they began to hang out, in a more normal – go to dinner – setting, and as they always say, the rest is history.
Now this is an adorable story, and their one request during their Northern Colorado engagement photos was that they had some piggyback pictures to commemorate their story. How could I deny such a sweet request.
To all couples out there, your photos should uniquely represent you. A piggyback ride for Alexis and Philip was special because it reminded them of the beginning of their story together. What is your special thing? Make sure that you capture that because when you look back at that photograph, it is more than just a cute picture of the two of you. There is a story and emotions tied to that image. When your family and kids ask about it, you will have a memory to share.
